Milei and social science: enigma, anomaly or what?
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines how the phenomenon led by Javier Milei has been approached as an object of study within the social sciences. Through a critical review of three key books the study explores how Milei and his movement, La Libertad Avanza, have been conceptualized and problematized within Argentine academia during the first year of his presidency. The paper analyzes the diverse ways in which these works address the historicity of the process, the theoretical frameworks employed, and the methodological approaches utilized. Additionally, it reflects on how these interventions articulate professional practices in the social sciences with the role of public intellectuals in contemporary political debates.
