The trajectory of a co-religionist worker in SiTraC: Francisco Raúl Amuchástegui (1956-1970)

Abstract
The aim of this article is to explore the trajectory of Francisco Amuchástegui, a Fiat Concord worker, leader of the Concord Workers' Union (SiTraC) and a militant of the Radical Civic Union (UCR). For this purpose, we will address the period from the first years of Fiat's establishment in 1956 until the recovery of the union, brought about by the active intervention of the workers in 1970. Through a biographical analysis of the itinerary of this worker, we will examine the interaction between the working class and the political parties, with the aim of reconstructing the social conflicts, the intervention of various party currents and their respective union strategies within the factory. Our protagonist's adherence to radicalism did not prevent him from establishing links and dialogue with workers belonging to other political tendencies, such as Peronism, Social-Christians and the left organizations, in an effort to realise the labour aspirations of his co-workers. His journey expresses the complex process of radicalisation and politisation of the working class during the 1960s.
